THIS REAR SHOCK MUD/GUARD IS THE FIRST STYLE USED FOR THE SINGLE SHOCK AND IT WAS THE BEST DESIGN.
IT IS HELD IN PLACE WITH ZIP TIES AND DOES NOT REQUIRE THE SEAT TO BE REMOVED TO REMOVE THIS STYLE SHOCK MUD GUARD.
ANOTHER BENEFIT TO THIS EARLY DESIGN IS THAT IT DID NOT TRAP MUD AND GRIT between the MUD GUARD AND SUBFRAME THAT THE LATER STYLE DID WHICH EVENTUALLY CAUSED THE TRAPPED MUD & GRIT TO GRIND INTO THE SUB-FRAME AND CREATE CORROSION/RUST.
THE LOUVERS ARE NOT CUT OUT WHICH PREVENTS MUD & GRIT FROM COLLECTING ON THE SHOCK SHAFT AND EVENTUALLY TAKING OUT THE SEAL HEAD.
